My 2017 word for the year is… HONOR.

Working with a coach is a gift. I am given the gift of expanded consciousness and the opportunity to lift the veil. I say “opportunity” because just as there is a right, there is a left. Free will provides us the choice of which path to choose and allows us to listen to the whispers to reach down to the deeper knowing to decide for ourselves which one is correct for us; at that given time. To support the journey and to stay on the path I desire, I have to will work. Good work. Soulful work. HARD work. To get that work done, I have to will honor myself. I have to will honor the process and the path that this process lies upon. I have to will honor the good and the bad that I encounter with equanimity. I will do this every day, releasing the obstacles that are in the way that no longer serve me. I will speak it. I will model it. I do this for me. I honor me.

Not in each other’s shadow

“You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”

Khalil Gibran

Thin Red Line

“This great evil. Where does it come from? How’d it steal into the world? What seed, what root did it grow from? Who’s doin’ this? Who’s killin’ us? Robbing us of life and light. Mockin’ us with the sight of what we might’ve known. Does our ruin benefit the earth? Does it help the grass to grow, the sun to shine? Is this darkness in you, too? Have you passed through this night?”

Stepping outside, a warm breeze greets me with the faint smell of slightly overripe fruit, which isn’t bad. It is the familiar sensation of walking through the woods as a kid during the summer. Heat. Crickets. Birds. Wind. I feel a sense of boldness like I’m the only one who is noticing such a fine day. A day for kids to play is sprinklers, eat watermelon, laugh, and spend this time in return for nostalgia. The day doesn’t only last for today. It can last our entire lives if we let it. Just take the time to stop, for half a second, and breathe. 🙂

4-Hour Body App – Just missed it!

Man! I either just missed it or the email was sent WAY after the insiders got at it. Tim Ferris was offering up free beta access to his 4-Hour body app. I thought I had a decent request to be a beta tester:

I want it to change my life, give me rockstar abs, a private boat in the carribean, fame, glory and a spot on Chelsea’s FC.

But, I’ll settle for some reminders and tips on how to modify my lifestyle to gain more energy and more control over my body. I also like spreading the word about the things I learn to my friends and family. I’m tired of accepting spoon fed sound bytes from the mainstream media. There’s got to be a better way. Our standard methods for diagnosing disease are antiquated and need a major revamp. I think this app could be part of that solution.

Thanks! Take care. Kevin
